How to handle public transport when you have Anxiety

How to handle public transport when you have Anxiety

I don't know about you, but the idea of traveling on a bus or in a taxi horrifies me. I can't deal with sitting next to complete strangers, awkwardly catching peoples eyes, asking myself things like, are they watching at me, are they laughing at me, are they judging my clothes, are they staring at my hair, can they recognize how afraid I am, It's constant. I'd rather walk for miles then have to deal with this, but that's not always possible, so I have to endure it. Usually, I'm stuck in traffic and have no choice but to wait and survive this hell on earth journey, which is made a thousand times worse when it's overcrowded I become so claustrophobic, particularly when I've got somebody near enough sitting on top of me. Oh my gosh just thinking about it horrifies me. Its also a germ factory, everyone coughing, sneezing, touching everything it affects my inner germaphobe, and makes me feel sick, out discreetly comes the hand sanitizer. 🤢🤢

How social anxiety makes me embarrassed to make and keep friends

How social anxiety makes me embarrassed to make and keep friends

Do you ever walk towards a crowd of people and feel...
your body sweating, uncontrollable trembling, your mouth feels dry, your breathing becomes heavy, you suddenly feel sick, you become dizzy, and your thoughts are racing so fast in your mind, one after the other telling you to turn around and run straight home. I feel like this on a daily bases and it makes socializing extremely hard to deal with.

Do you ever have feelings of unhappiness in your relationship and often visualize a better life? I certainly do. How my anxiety affects the most simplest things

So this morning I once again woke up late but I managed to keep on schedule and get my son to school on time, then got on a bus and awkwardly sat down wishing it would hurry up so I could get home. Once I arrived at my stop, I got off the bus felt in my pocket for my phone and realized my weekly rider wasn't there it must have fallen out. The bus was still sitting there allowing people on and off, but I just stood fidgeting in my pocket pretending I was searching for something to save any embarrassment. Now considering the price of that bloody ticket, I should have quickly got on and got it back, but no I decided to stand there looking like an idiot and instead walked away while silently panicking.

What is Sleep paralysis? how to handle with it

My eyes suddenly open, my breathing becomes erratic, and I'm feeling physically unable to move. I notice a dark figure in the corner of the room and It's creeping slowly towards me I'm attempting to scream, but nothing comes out, the best I can do is a grunt and hope my partner hears me. When he eventually does, I snap out of it, my heart races so hard it feels like its gonna jump out of my chest, then I pull the covers up over my head, and feel too terrified to fall back to sleep. Aside from this, I can sometimes experience hallucinations which are also pretty terrifying. I feel like I'm floating, or moving around, and sometimes I'll be floating above my own body watching myself sleep.

How my anxiety and depression affects Christmas, with some tips to help you relax.

Christmas is upon us its the time of year to be joyful, thankful and spend time with family and friends. When I was a child, I loved this time of year it was magical and exciting spending time with family where me and my cousin would race around the house playing games, drink hot chocolate, relax in front of the fireplace to tell stories, listen to Christmas music, bake gingerbread houses we had not a care in the world. As we grew into distant relatives, Christmas became stressful, family conflicts meant we struggled to be in the same room with one another without some kind of disagreements or uncomfortable silences. The anticipation throughout the year is no longer exciting it's now turned into dread, frustration, and disappointment. I struggle each day with my emotions, so having to face family and friends throughout Christmas when I'm feeling like I have to pretend to be happy and having loads of fun is extremely tough.

How pets can help improve anxiety and depression

Each evening after a long stressful day I'll be relaxing trying to process everything that's happened and how I feel about it such as work, my parenting abilities, relationship troubles, or even something I said to somebody around five or six years ago. Then in walks my extremely vocal cat leaning into me and demanding a cuddle, and I'll quickly forget about my problems for a few minutes. Stroking his soft body, brushing my head against his, and listening to his adorable purring instantly lifts my mood and makes me smile.

Heart palpitations and anxiety

Heart palpitations are one of the most troubling symptoms of anxiety especially when it's happening for no apparent reason. I've dealt with these for many years now and have never really worried about them but lately, they've been happening more and more, and I've become increasingly disturbed. When I feel my heart racing I'm almost certain that I'm going to suffer a heart attack and die right then and there even after the palpitations have disappeared, the implications of them remain stuck in my mind, and I'll find it incredibly difficult to breathe and remain calm.

Why anxiety is real and not fake!!!

So I don't know about some of you, but I'm just about sick of having to defend myself on a daily bases regarding my anxiety it's not a choice to feel this way, I don't like it, and I don't act this way for fun. I cannot  help feeling like something catastrophic is about to happen, I cannot help feeling unable to enjoy myself because I don't want anybody to feel embarrassed by my awkwardness, question why I'm mumbling and shaking, wonder why I'm staring at the floor trying to focus on my breathing because I'm feeling trapped in a large crowd. Each day is a struggle I'll feel inflated and happy one minute then without warning I'll suddenly feel those nervous butterflies in my stomach,  and start to remember something I haven't done, or something I've said, It's not a temporary thing, it's constant every hour of the day nonstop.

4 things you should never say to someone who is anxious or depressed. What you should be saying instead.

4 things you should never say to someone who is anxious or depressed. What you should be saying instead.

Okay so I've dealt with anxiety and depression for many years now, and I've had my fair share of arguments with friends and family who cannot truly understand how I feel. I appreciate they're trying to help, but they will often say something more hurtful than helpful. Occasionally, I've been guilty of taking somebody's witty comment for something negative, and I'll blow it massively out of proportion which obviously can cause a lot of upset and negativity.

About me

About me

Hey, everyone my names Jo and I'm thirty years old, I've wanted to begin this blog for so long. However due to the horrible effects of anxiety and depression I've been too afraid to start. I'm forever scrolling online, looking for advice and reassurance from others and it's all so informative and very comforting to know I'm not alone. But I want to be able to speak openly and freely about my thoughts and feelings and hopefully make some new friends in the process because having depression and anxiety makes me feel very lonely, and bothersome to others, So it would be nice to be able to get to know somebody with the same mindset as me.
